1. What documents do I need to rent a car with CBX?

You'll need a valid driver's license, be over 21 years of age and present your passport. In some cases, another type of available ID may be required.

2. What are the age requirements to rent a vehicle?

Most companies require the driver to be at least 25 years old. However, with CBX you can rent if you purchase additional insurance starting at age 21.

3. Is insurance included in the rental price?

At CBX, the quote provided to you will already include Costa Rica’s Basic Mandatory Coverage. No surprise fees.

4. What happens if I return the car late?

Generally, a late fee will apply. We recommend that you contact us if you anticipate being late.

5. Can I add an additional driver?

Yes, at CBX you can add additional drivers, free of charge, as long as they present us with the relevant documents and IDs.

6. What should I do if I have an accident or the vehicle is damaged?

You should immediately contact CBX and follow our instructions. It is advisable to have the company's contact number at hand.

7. What happens if I need to cancel or modify my reservation?

Cancellations can be made at least 3 days in advance. Otherwise, you will lose the amount you paid for the reservation, which is 100 USD.

8. Are there any additional charges I should be aware of?

Yes, charges may apply for not returning the vehicles in the same condition in which they were delivered to you, such as empty tank, excessive dirt, spilled upholstery, cigarette smell, among others that do not meet the standards established by CBX.

Do you offer insurance for international drivers?

Yes, we offer Costa Rica's Basic Mandatory Coverage (CDW and TPL) required to rent a car in Costa Rica, as well as two other types of coverage: CDW Credit Card Coverage and Full Cover.
